Safe Spaces

Our goal is to provide affirming support while assisting in recovery navigation.

What is a mentor?

A recovery mentor is someone with lived experience with substance use who can help you set goals and get to where you want to be in life. All of our mentors have obtained their CRM certification and have at least one year in recovery. Mentors can help in building a healthy social circle, getting connected to community resources, learning about LGBTQIA2s+ culture, creating steps to rebuilding your personal assets, and so much more. We are experts in navigating recovery resources and understand how difficult sustaining recovery can be.

How we work.

We don’t tell you what to do or who to be. What we do is help you find out what you want from your recovery and help you in cultivating that pathway. We at True Colors believe that you are the expert in your recovery and life. We embrace all pathways to recovery INCLUDING medicated assisted treatment.

“This space and place is one of the most important recovery programs we will have in Oregon. I hope we will not stop with this program here in Portland because everyone deserves the ability to walk in the room and say their truth, own their stuff, and get to a place of healing and recovery without having to explain, hide, or change who they are. We say recovery is for everyone, True Colors is one more step towards actually holding that space for everyone who needs it, wants it, and deserves the opportunity to heal their true selves.”
