Community Center

True Colors will provide recovery community centers (available 365 days a year) where individuals can access a variety of recovery support services. Our centers are substance free environments where individuals can feel safe and have the opportunity to expand their recovery network. Other services available at our centers include but are not limited to mutual-aid groups, LGBTQIA2s+ focused events, access to on site STD and Hep C testing, resource navigation fairs, and skill-building opportunities.

Peer Services

True colors provides free substance use recovery peer services to individuals 18 and older. These services are provided by Certified Recovery Mentors(CRM) that identify as LGBTQIA2S+ or allies. Credentials are obtained through the Mental Health and Addictions Certification Board of Oregon (MHACBO). Individuals that are CRM’s have at least 1 year of recovery experience and share their knowledge by helping others set goals and create a personalized recovery pathway. We believe that all pathways to recovery are valid and welcome individuals using MAT or harm reduction tactics. True Colors does not provide clinical or Mental Health services but will partner and refer to various agencies to help people access resources.

Civic Engagement

True Colors civic engagement services help individuals within the community use their political voice, exercise leadership, and create resolution-based strategies to address issues the LGBTQIA2s+ community faces.

True Colors believes in expanding community knowledge of barriers the LGBTQIA2S+ community faces, using personal stories as a tool for prevention, and always takes a stance of advocacy for policy and systematic change.

Our efforts are focused on

  1. increasing recovery and gender diversity services in and outside of Oregon

  2. Increasing the quality of life of individuals that self-identify as having a SUD/AUD

  3. Reducing the overall SUD/AUD percentage within LGBTQIA2S+ communities through use of preventative strategies.

Recovery Health

True Colors recognizes the destruction that substance use can have on our bodies and minds. We as an organization create physical space the LGBTQIA2s+ community can use to practice mindfulness, access exercise classes (led by professionals), and information materials on h.r.t. And gender affirming providers. We also focus on providing access to harm reduction supplies and HIV testing at our center and during outreach events.
